There Once was a Girl
I am a very laid back person.I believe in some things, but not all things.
I've told by some that I have a strange outlook on life. I view myself as a realist. To me, dreams, hopes and aspirations
exist but this is life and your eyes cannot deny what is in front of you. They may be open, yet closed at the same time.
I am supportive of many things in this world. I am in favor of a womans
right and choice for an abortion. I am in favor of capital punishment. I am in favor of same sex marriages. I am in favor
of a cleaner, healthier environment. I am in favor of going to war only if we are called upon to assist another country or
are directly attacked. I am in favor of gun control. I am in favor of spanking a child to correct or discipline.
I am also against a few things in this world. I oppose exporting jobs from
the USA. I oppose animal testing (start using humans...after all we re the ones that will be consuming the medicine) Wow.
In writing this I didn't realize just how many things I support as I oppose!
So, with that in mind, enough of my "political" views. I'll get a little more personal.
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...
On a hot, Thursday morning, yours truly was born into this world at 10:43 A.M.
on July 23rd sometime during the latter part of the century. I, of course, remember nothing and neither does my mom as she
was knocked out on pain medication. Born in New Orleans, LA, I moved around a couple of times throughout the years to follow.
The first place I remember living was St. Petersburg, FL. We were there for 2 years and then moved to Columbus, GA where I
sprouted for 9.5 years and picked up my southern accent. After leaving GA, we moved back to New Orleans. I was there for almost
20 years until Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, forcing me to move to Ft. Wayne, Indiana. My accent is a combination like a
country (redneck) New Yorker. Yes, it is a scary thought and sound to hear!
Over the years I have learned quite a few things. I have been riding hunter/jumper
horses for 30 years now. That's my number one passion. Always has been, always will be. I love cats too. So independent! In
jr. high I was an 8th grade cheerleader. This enabled me to be louder and more obnoxious than I already was! Great experience
and learned a valuable lesson there that if you aren't a part of the "it" crowd, you just simply don't belong. I sang my way
through chorus from 2nd grade all the way through 10th. I can shoot a bow and arrow, an air gun, hit a baseball pretty damn
far and shoot pool like a goddess. Men are so intimidated by me that it's cute. I own 3 Meucci pool sticks that are my babies. The
one thing I had to learn, and it wasn't hard, was bartending. I love this job. You really get to meet some very interesting
people and I do mean interesting.
I have 2 tattoos. One of Felix the Cat on my ankle and the other one meaning
"dog" in Kanji. I got Felix because I just love the character and collect Felix memorabilia. The Kanji represents the year
under the Chinese calendar for which I was born. I have a navel piercing also.
I love going to the movies also. I can't stand chick flicks though. They are
just stupid and make teenage girls and stupid, adult females live in a dreamworld.
I love to travel. I prefer driving, even though it takes a little longer to
get there, but that's ok because then I can see the countryside and everything this beautiful land has to offer. I haven't
been to too many places. I have been to Las Angeles and Vegas once with plans to return a.s.a.p. I have been to the Grand
Canyon. That is something you should experience if you haven't. Absolutely breathtaking. I've been to every nook and cranny
of GA. Very beautiful state. I did finally get the chance, in October of 2004, to go to Europe. I went to London, Castle Combe,
Lacock and Bath England for a week with a trip to Paris for a day. I'd love to return to see Rome, Italy, Greece and perhaps
Germany. So, that is basically me in a nut shell, but I'll just list some likes
and favorites below so you can get a better picture of my vast likes...

So What's In a Name?
Brittany: The name usage is English from Latin origin. It is referred
to as Breizh in Breton, Bretaña in Spanish and Britany in English. From the name of the region
in the northwest of France, it is called Bretagne in French. It was named for the Briton settlers who fled to that
area after the Anglo-Saxon invasion of England. The Celtic Bretons emigrated from France to become the Bretons of England,
therefore, giving the name a new Celtic meaning, "From Britain". It also mean "strong, industrious". The name has eighty-three
variant forms.
Suzanne: 'Lily' Variant of Hebrew Susannah. In the apocryphal Book of Tobit
Susannah courageously defended herself against wrongful accusation. White lilies grew in the Biblical city of Susa in Persia.
Suzanne is also a French form of Susannah meaning "graceful lily". The name has nine variant forms.
Heritage

In my own words, as a true minority in this country, my ancestors, the American Indian,
fought hard to survive the harshness that life brings. Living off the land and having a true respect for nature, the Creeks,
which was one of the five civilized nations, found life increasingly harder as the White Man settled upon more of their land.
Battles with the White Man and White Man diseases significantly reduced the number of tribes that existed mainly because the
tribesman had no natural immunity to the White Mans diseases.
The Creek are
an American Indian people originally from the southeastern United States, also known by their original name Muscogee (or Muskogee).
The name they use to identify themselves today. Mvskoke is their name in traditional spelling. Modern Muscogees live primarily
in Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Their language, Mvskoke, is a member of the Creek branch of the Muskogean language
family. The Seminole are close kin to the Muscogee and speak a Creek language as well.
Today, the Creek Indian Nation
of Oklahoma exists to help oversee the business of the tribe. To give you a better understanding of the way of life for
Indians back then, I have listed a few interesting links that give descriptive facts about what these people have endured
throughout the years.

Here is some useless information I found interesting about my Leo and Dog signs,
as well as the month of July. You probably will not, but if you are one or both of these signs and born in July, then you
might find it interesting also.
About DOB
July 23rd is the 204th day of the year (205th leap years) in the Gregorian calendar.
The Origins of English naming used by the Gregorian calendar for my birth month originate from Julius Caesar, the Roman dictator,
who was born in this month. The month was formerly named Quintilis (Latin), since it was the fifth month in the ancient Roman
calendar, before January became the first month of the calendar year (the year when displayed as twelve months in order) during
the time of the decemvirs about 450 BC. In the pagan wheel of the year July ends at or near to Lughnasadh in the northern
hemisphere and Imbolc in the southern hemisphere.July begins on the same day of the week as April every year and also January
in leap years. Therefore, the only difference between a July calendar page and an April calendar page in the same year is
the extra day July has. July is also National Ice Cream Month which was designated by Ronald Regan in 1984. July is the most
common birth month, along with October. July in the Northern Hemisphere is the seasonal equivalent to January in the Southern
Hemisphere and vice versa.

Thursday, the day I was born, originates
from Thor's day (Old Norse God of Thunder). Old English Þūnresdæg (pronounced [θuːn.res.dæg] or [θuːn.res.dæj]),
meaning 'Þunor's day'. Þunor means thunder or its personification, the Norse god known in Modern English as Thor. Similarly
German Donnerstag ('thunder's day') and Scandinavian Torsdag ('Thor's day'). Thor's day corresponds to Latin dies Iovis, "day
of Jupiter. To read more information about Thor, click here. Also, in the Thai solar calendar, the colour associated with Thursday is orange.
Leo
Leo is a Fire sign. Leo is the fifth sign in the zodiac symbolized by a lion and associated with this symbol,♌. People born
in the period of July 23-August 1 are influenced by Saturn. Leos are extroverts. The glyph is thought to represent the tail
of the lion. It can also symbolize the heat or creativity of the sun. They love to be dramatic and play to an audience. They
are only truly happy when the attention is on them! They are a born leaders and thrive on recognition for their accomplishments.
They are sometimes arrogant and lack tact. Their charm helps them in social situations and they are in their element when
addressing a small social group. Leos tend to be a little self important and need to consider the wishes and feelings of others
in social situations.
Fire personalities are believed to have good leading qualities, and
also tend to be extroverted, rebellious, passionate and enthusiastic; however, they can also be moody, hot-tempered, snappy,
uncontrollable and angry.
Leo is one of four Fixed Signs along with Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius. Fixed Signs
are at the height of the four seasons. Fixed Signs are associated with stamina, perseverance and strength and said to be,
by nature, inert. However, they are also associated with inflexibility. Individuals born under the four Fixed Signs of the
Zodiac are thought to be determined, powerful, natural leaders, purposeful, reliable, loyal and self-confident but also occasionally
stubborn and immovable, with a tendency to get stuck in ruts. They supposedly pursue their goals with dogged persistence and
have a great powers of concentration. As a Fixed Fire Sign, Leo individuals are said to burn with
a greater intensity than the other two Fire Signs. They are supposedly much less impulsive than
Aries natives and not as prone to "wanderlust" as Sagittarius subjects.

Ruby the Birthstone
During the 15th-20th centuries, turquoise and onyx were the birthstones for the month of July. In 1912,
to the present day, the United States made ruby the birthstone of the country. In Britain, ruby and/or carnelian is the official
birthstone. In the Hindu culture, sapphire is the birthstone. Early civilizations, such as those in India and Babylon, have
attributed gemstones with magical properties and especially to their relationship with the signs of the zodiac. Over time,
astrologers assigned gems of certain colors to the twelve signs of the zodiac to help people influence the planets in their
favor. The Zodiac birthstone for July is Onyx.
Called the "Lord of Gems" by ancient Hindus, rubies are one of the most highly prized gems throughout history.
The fiery glow of rubies is said to come from the gemstone's internal and eternal flame. For this reason, the gift of a ruby
is a symbol of everlasting love. If worn on the left hand, ancient lore has it that the Ruby will bring good fortune. It is
a perfect engagement ring gemstone and a popular alternative to or addition to diamond engagement band

The Leo Constellation
This constellation is named for the lion that, in Greek mythology, Hercules killed during
the first of his Twelve Labours. The Nemean Lion, as it was referred to, was a giant beast who descended to Earth from the
Moon, in the form of a meteor, had ravaged the countryside and the hills of the Peloponnesian villages causing havoc. The
task of killing such a beast was proving to be a tough one because the lions hide was so tough that neither spears, swords
or any other weapon could pierce it. When Heracles first tackled it, his weapons - bow and arrow, a club made from an olive
tree (which he pulled out of the ground himself) and a bronze sword - were all ineffective. Hercules found the lion in its
liar and sped an arrow towards its heart. The arrow merely bounced off its chest and fell to the ground. Knowing the strength
of the beast, Hercules flushed the lion out of its lair, seized the animal and strangled it to death by ramming his fist down
its throat. Hercules flung the lion over his shoulder returning to show the King his first task complete. Hercules then skinned
the lion making a protective shield which would aid him in killing the second of his labours, Hydra, the poisonous sea serpent.
In honour of this great feat, Zeus set the form of the fearsome Lion in the night sky.
The Chaldeans associated Leo with the summer solstice, since in ancient times Leo was
visible in the sky at that time. The Egyptians worshiped the Lion because it was in the sky at the time of the flooding of
the Nile.
Leo is best visible at 9:00 P.M. (21:00) during the month of April and visible at latitudes
between +90° and -65°. Leo is easy to locate; following the pointer stars of the Big Dipper south approximates the location
of the bright blue-white star Regulus in Leo's chest. Regulus, whose name is Latin for "Prince" or "Little King" and is 77
light years distance, is the brightest star in the constellation. It is so named because it was seen as the one who regulated
all things in the heavens. That name was given by Copernicus. In ancient times, the star was also known as Cor Leonis, the
Lion's Heart. Algeiba, another bright star in Leo, means forehead, or lion's mane, in Arabic, and Denebola means lion's tail.
The stars are in 125 light years distance.
The meteor showers that are visible every year, around November 17th, (give or take
a week or two) are also known as the Leonids. The Leonids get their name from the location of their radiant in the constellation
Leo. The meteors appear to stream from that point in the sky.
Guardian Angels
For every aspect or cycle of time, there is an Angel who guards and directs spiritual lessons
or karmic events. Primarily related to a particular zone on the Astrological Calendar, these Angels have, over time, grown
to also be associated with a certain Calendar Month. Thus, although there will be a specific Guardian Angel connected with
each Sign of the Zodiac, there will be an additional Angel who aids in governing individuals who are born during the second
month into which that Zodiac Sign falls.
Leo subjects are primarily governed by Verchiel, who is the Angel of July. Verchiel encourages
individuals to take time for leisure...to step back and observe what has been achieved...to play and replenish energy. This
Angel also urges individuals to be sufficiently objective to weed-out any unhealthy or unproductive elements and offers the
reminder to nurture people and things that bring personal happiness. In addition, Verchiel aids with nobility, affection and
a generous heart. He is also one of the Governors of the Sun and grants powers of the intellect, language, learning and mathematics.
Often referred to as the "Angel of Affection," Verchiel is one of the Rulers of the Order of Powers and is the secondary Guardian
Angel of Cancer natives born during the month of July.
Individual Guardian Angels
July 23 through July 27: This period of time is governed by the Angel Nithaiah, who is a member
of the Order of Dominations and an Angel of Magic and Occult Sciences. Nithaiah is also known as a Poet Angel and is associated
with wisdom and revelations by way of dreams. He also delivers prophecies in rhyme and exercises influence over wise individuals
who love peace and solitude. This Angel is customarily invoked by pronouncing any of the divine names along with the First
Verse of Psalm Nine. Those who fall within the jurisdiction of Nithaiah are broadminded persons with a thirst for knowledge
and adventure. They desire to discover the mysteries of life, spirituality and the soul. Thus, others tend to seek out these
individuals for the benefit of their wise counseling. Through the benefit of personal experience, those ruled by Nithaiah
are driven to offer assistance to those around them in order to make the lives of such individuals both happier and healthier.
Zodiacal Flag
The Flag of Leo is a rich orange. It is a color which stimulates and
strengthens, filled with force and health. It gives the impression of a constant flue of energy. Orange
is the hottest, widest and most pleasant and positive of colors. It reflects the balance of will and possibility. It denotes
consciousness, ripeness, abundance, happiness and sexuality. It ensures, supports, and evokes appetite. It awakes, but does
not excite, and tends to embrace space. Orange corresponds to the form of the wide rhombus that
joins the diversity of yellow and the strength of red.
Chinese Zodiac
The Year of the Dog
To the Chinese, Dogs represent justice and equality. People born in the year of the
Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They tend to be very well liked as the Dog is one of the most popular of all
the animals in the zodiac. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people's confidence because they
know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They are open-minded, never
envious and very adept to seeing straight through others. They are also intrepid, practical and have great insight into human
nature. They care little for wealth; yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant
at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They
are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit. They are least compatible with Dragons and Roosters.
Sizzling Rice Soup and Chinese Cabbage are among the keys to good health.

Metal Dog
Having been born between February 6, 1970 and January 26, 1971, I fall under the category
of Metal Dog. Yang metal years end in 0. Refer to the pictures above for meanings of the following sentence. The links in
the circle to the dogs left symbolize Metal. The third is the Chinese symbol, or word, for metal and the fourth symbolizes
dog.
Metal Dogs make very good friends, loyal to the bone, always finding ways to help others.
Friends always know where they stand because of their directness and frank manner. The love and romance department usually
finds a very handsome male and beautiful female, each incredibly attractive to one another and sincerity reigns in their communication.
The Metal Dog doesn't like to take to many chances, preferring conservative and traditional ways of romance. Sometimes they
become virtual love slaves, a little too passive for their own good.
Other qualities associated with metal are unyielding, persistence, strength and determination.
The metal person is forceful and set in their ways, but they are self-reliant and enjoy the good things in life.
